Happy New Year! But I am sad that we lost Betty White just before. What a legend and such a talented icon. I started watching Golden Girls again yesterday on Hulu and wowed at how edgy of a show it was and holds up today. It’s been a relaxing and cold long weekend here, Miko has been very cuddly and not interested in spending too much time outside in the freezing temps.
We have been putting together Legos starting with a fun ice skating set to start our Lego Holiday village display collection for next year. Then onto the Nintendo Entertainment System that will be a consuming project for awhile for us – good thing we got a bigger dining room table!
I tried to get to a healthier place with eats this week with salads, sautés, simple noodle soups, and a turmeric vegan scramble, but there is much room for improvement in the New Year.
Ron discovered Sprouts has their own brand of vegan wild mushroom girasoli pasta now much cheaper than Kite Hill and was a fan of the mushroom flavor and texture, maybe even liked it better.
We ended the year simply with takeout from Pho Vegan Asian Cuisine one evening and simple tofu stir fry.
Before heading to a small NYE party at my sister’s house that featured great tofu and black bean vegan enchiladas her husband made. And toasted with vegan Avaline Sparkling Wine.
It’s been a pretty and frosty start to the New Year so far making it perfect for enjoying the fireplace and movies indoors while taking down decorations and making a big pot of simple veggie soup for weekday leftovers.
Back to work tomorrow, I’m ready – maybe. We saw Spider-Man: No Way Home in the theater yesterday, our first time back in a theater since the pandemic started and it was a good movie experience and nice to feel a little more normal. Maybe 2022 will be more normal, who knows! I hope you had a great New Year’s and ready to charge into 2022 with this list.

I love the idea of you Lego village! Sounds so fun, but will you have to store them all without them betting broken before next year? That would be a challenge for me! I break everything. Sounds like seeing a movie was a great way to feel normal. It’s always fun to see a movie around Christmastime. Have a great New Year!!!!

Very true, we will need to get creative to store them in small boxes! Yes on seeing a movie again, hopefully we’ll be able to go back more in the near future! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I posted a few things so far today but but a lot more to post, too! One of which I will also be mentioning Betty White. Sooooo sad. The things they are coming up with – with Lego’s these days – almost makes me want to get back into them. LOTS of colorful and interesting eats you have in this post – as you usually do in other posts, too! Today has been a pretty bad day. Seeing Miko put a smile on my face.

So sad, she was such an icon and so close to 100. Yes on Legos and I am enjoying working on these sets, relaxing and fun way to come down from a busy day. Looking forward to setting up a holiday village now! So sorry for the bad day and sending hugs.
