Daring Tahini Dressing

January 10, 2018 by christine

Poor Leela is feeling the challenges of going blind. We serve her dinner in a pretty hefty ceramic bowl.

Somehow her little 9 lb. self stepped on the edge of the bowl just right last night to send it flying and her dinner all over the floor. Poor thing was too nervous to go back for more dinner after hubby cleaned up the mess and I might need to look into other bowl options for her!

You’ll want a big bowl for a salad coated in this simple, but powerful dressing. It does not have salt, oil, or sugar and gets if creaminess from tahini, thickness from a carrot, and savory from miso paste. It also packs raw garlic and ginger for powerful health benefits which apparently we need for this year’s flu season – ugh!

Daring Tahini Dressing

  • 1” chunk fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp. miso paste
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 1 tbsp. chili paste
  • 2 tbsp. Lemon juice
  • red pepper flakes to taste (optional)
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • ¼ cup water, as needed

Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend to a smooth and creamy texture. Serve and enjoy! Makes 4 servings.

The warming color and creamy texture is perfect for a winter salad.

And it has plenty of spicy, warming flare.

It packs heat, lots of kicky and warming heat that you can happily customize to your desired level. Heat that works perfectly with garlic and ginger to create a flavor combo that makes you feel alive.

Fight the winter blues with this bright salad.

Poor little Leela. :( It’s so sad to watch our fur babies get old. Gizmo is 12 but still doing well, however, I know the day is coming when he’s going to slow down and that thought is so depressing.

On a happier note, that dressing is so pretty! I love the idea of putting a carrot in it. Such a great way to sneak more veggies in.

It is so sad, but she still loves to eat and I got her a new mounted food and water bowl set that seems to working good so far.

Thanks on the dressing. Agreed, veggie-based sauces are perfect for adding more.

Aw, sweet Leela… If only she could enjoy her meal smothered in this marvelous dressing; I don’t think anyone could miss that!
