We are here and Miko is hanging in there with his medication and us making sure he is living the good life. I am trying to work from home more now rotating who’s in the office with my team to enjoy that more, save money on gas, and commute time. And Miko is such a great work-from-home buddy.
His appetite has changed a bit causing us to try new foods and methods of getting him to take his medications which could be related to the new atrial fibrillation medicine he’s on in addition to all the other medications, I worry about the side effects and impact to his kidneys.
But he is still happy to take his podium at the dinner table to beg for what we’re eating. It’s been an interesting week of eats, I have been trying to be healthier with more whole foods like this tempeh and kale sauté.
And get out to enjoy the full moon and rain clouds we had this week. There have been more tempeh sautés, a delicious pizza using Miyoko’s Liquid Mozz, salad, and a simple noodle and veggie soup.
Creamy curry potato sauté using up vegan sour cream in the sauce, a loaded veggie vegan pizza from a local place, and I discovered that Miyoko’s Liquid Vegan Mozz makes a great creamy risotto/alfredo like dish when paired with Basil Pesto RightRice.
We also made a trip to Vegan Plate since it’s been awhile where Ron got the Hawaiian Soy Chick’n Katsu and I got the insanely delicious and filling Crazy Rich Asian Noodle Soup.
It’s been a quiet, but good weekend and we’re trying to motivate ourselves for the work week ahead. It will be a great week, yeah. Starting with the list.
- The Joy of Letting Go. Not easy, but something I need to work on.
- This Apple Chickpea Salad with Mustard-Dill dressing sounds like a fun way to get healthier.
- Vegan seafood brands to checkout.
- Vegan meaty comfort recipes.
- So many new vegan products to look forward to.
- Vegan dancers share diet.
- Vegan Easter Eggs.
- Vegan granola brands.
- Excited for vegan smoked cheese wheels.

It’s nice to hear that you’ve been able to stay at home more, while you work.
it’s also good to hear that Miko is still being your good, cuddle buddy. Just continue offering him a variety of foods that you think he may like (even if you have to offer him canned puppy foods). Is he on a special diet to support his kidney health?
For giving him pills, make “meatballs” with canned dog food, peanut butter, or use “pill pockets” and put the pills in these. For liquid meds., give him some “yummy” food or liquid before any liquid meds. and then give him “yummy” food or liquid after the meds.
Dogs (and cats) do get tired of being given meds, so being creative in how the meds are given can be challenging. I wish you good luck in giving Miko his meds. and for his continued health!
Your meals look delicious!

Thanks and I have been enjoying working from home more. Thanks for the advice on Miko, he is on a special kidney diet with supplements and lots of wet fiber. Oddly he has never been a fan of peanut butter, but likes cooked sweet potato in his current pill mash blend. He burned out on pill pockets early and I have not tried them since using the pill mash to mix in supplements as well. So true on meds, I focus on not making it a stressful time for time and just be lovingly persistent.
Thanks on the meals!

Sweet Miko… He definitely looks happy! He’s very lucky to have you taking such good care of him. I know it must be hard. You’re doing it right though… Cherish all the good moments and do what you can. <3
