How are you? We are here and it’s raining! Finally getting some much needed rain which Miko is not happy about and pouts about backyard trips, forget walks in the rain! Since it’s supposed to rain all day, it’s a great excuse to stay home and catch up on work. Trying to decide if I feel like a run in this, leaning towards no currently!
We have been getting some gorgeous views from our backyard, winter sunsets and morning fog.
It did not rain last weekend, so Miko got out for a nice adventure walk on a lovely trail. Otherwise he has been enjoying fireplace and blanket time.
Miko is still on heart medication, 4 pills a day and getting him to take them consistently has been tough. What works for awhile stops working when he gets tired of it, so we’re having to change his routine regularly. Currently using a pill crusher to turn them into a fine powder and blend with mashed cooked veggies has been working, so Ron sweetly batch pressure cooked a blend of potatoes to have on hand this week.
But he is starting to get tired of that now, so we’ll be changing it again next week!
I have been trying to have more fun with eats this week with turmeric tofu scrambles, hearty lentil stews, protein pasta with vegan parm, and simple tofu sautés.
Salad too, kicky beans and rice with riced cauliflower, simple microwaved butternut squash, and spicy Thai curry tofu takeout with brown rice.
Now I am trying to prepare myself for another busy week and be optimistic about it, motivate myself for a workout, and getting out for groceries after – this is a lazy Sunday for sure! Hope you have a great week and this list inspires some fun.

Sweet Miko, what a trooper. Have you thought about incorporating the crushed pills into a gravy as a topper for their food? I did a recipe for Wild Earth not too long ago: https://wildearth.com/blogs/news/hannah-kaminskys-good-boy-gravy-recipe#.X9d66bNMFPY

Oh, thanks for the tip! I will look into that because it’s an ongoing challenge to roatate our methods.

Giving dogs meds is no joke! Mine always spit theirs out and stuff it under the radiator. Sneaky dogs. No rain here but snow, but it’s pretty at least. Dogs are nestled together under the fireplace. Very lazy today!

It’s not! Ours is very crafty too running off with his pill treats and getting the pills out before eating! We had to resort to crushing them into food now! The snow does sound lovely, enjoy!
