I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It’s been a quiet and relaxing long weekend here where Miko has been a sweet cuddly buddy and we got to enjoy our new propane backyard fire bowl for camping and winter outdoor gatherings.
We had a small Thanksgiving gathering at my sister’s with limited time indoors while everyone wore masks and eating and chatting socially distanced outdoors while enjoying the fire bowls.
It worked out pretty well even though it got cold outside. Still a strange way to spend the holidays, but new cases are going crazy in this state as everywhere else.
Friday we headed out to get a Christmas tree and ended up with a slightly taller one than we usually get. I am trying new efficient LED lights this year instead of the old school C5 lights that both heated and lit the entire house before, haha. I like that they can shift between colors changing the look of the tree, but still adjusting to them not being as bright and miss the buddle lights.
And it feels different this year trying to get into the holiday spirit. We’ll be able to do more socially distanced gatherings, which is nice. And we have so much to be thankful for. Still the lack of options to celebrate and hesitance to make plans and/or goals for the coming year is a little challenging.
Eats has been pretty typical this week with some new items to try from Grocery Outlet. Ripple Plant Based Half & Half is wonderful in coffee and Bolthouse Farms Habanero Blue dressing is wonderful for bringing a kale salad to life.
There was also roasted spaghetti squash with Sriracha BBQ tofu, Thanksgiving leftovers, a huge kale salad to offset so much rich eating, and spicy curry Thai takeout last night when we decided we’re tired of leftovers.
And the Sunday blues are real today after such a long and fun weekend because it has been so busy at work and spending a lot of time in a quiet and mostly empty office is getting old lately. But it’s also nice to be busy at work and stay focused on productive projects. And I hope this week’s list is a positive start to your week.

All things considered, it sounds like a really lovely little Thanksgiving. Definitely a weird start to the holiday season, but I’ll take any merriment I can get. It’s nice just to have something to celebrate, no matter what that may look like.

It was, nice to have a fun gathering even if the logistics were a little challenging. Hopefully we can do something similar for Christmas, but things are getting crazier in this county so who knows!

Sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving! So did we. We did it in shifts though and froze outside trying to social distance, LOL!

Yes, a bit challenging to enjoy the winter outdoors, but worth it for family gatherings!
