Charging into 2018 for the List

January 7, 2018 by christine

Whew, not even a week into 2018 and so much already! That’s cool, I’ve decided my theme for 2018 is more – more adventure, more family time, more friends, more fun, and more productivity. Sounds good, right? The pups have been happy to chill this weekend, it’s been cool, foggy, and overcast with some rain even.

Except I took them booth to the vet Saturday morning for their annual checkups and shots where we were greeted by the resident cat. Leela is hanging in there with her blindness and even hearing loss, but heart murmur has not gotten worse and she’s not having a problem with eye pressure, so that’s a relief. Poor Miko has a mild yeast infection in one of his ears that’s been bugging him and he’s really not happy about the medicine I have to put in it twice a day now!

I am trying to get outdoors more for 2018 and get adventurous with trail running, so I jumped at the chance to go for a 7-mile trail run in Auburn this morning with a group of very experienced runners. Getting up at 6 am was tough and it was cold since I’m still dialing in cold weather running gear, but it was great.

The scenery was gorgeous with fog, flowing rapids, and tree-covered trails. And it was a perfect opportunity to get familiar with a new trail to take hubby back to. But I am gonna feel those hills tomorrow – whew!

There has also been great eats this week, hubby and I stepped out for spicy Thai tofu dishes Friday.

And I went to Veg Cafe with my sister today for a late lunch.

I seriously need to get there more often, the food is vibrant and falafel burger very filling.

Other eats this week included Trader Joe’s Falafel rounds with potato wedges, corn, and hot sauce for dipping. More potato wedges with salad and hot sauce, I’m on a potato kick this week.

Explore Cuisine soy bean spaghetti with broccoli and marinara sauce. More high protein soy bean spaghetti sauteed with potatoes and cabbage. An oil free cabbage, tofu, and cauliflower stir fry with tamari. And lemongrass vegan “chicken” with veggies and rice from Pho Vegan Asian Cuisine.

Not a bad week at all and had some fun outdoor time before getting back to work tomorrow. But to the list first!

Truly stunning landscapes, even with (and perhaps especially because of) the fog! It makes me think that I really need to get out more despite the bad weather. I wasn’t thrilled to wake up with rain this morning, but now I’m reconsidering the photographic opportunities…

Very true, it was cold, but the views made it worth it. Ugh on the rain, glad we’re getting it, but ready to a couple of dry days and sunshine now!

Haha, all it does is snow here! And ugh, your poor pets, I hate going to the vet. But I like clinics that have a resident cat. The fog looks kind of fun =)

Yikes, so sorry! Me too on the vet, I always feel like the pups hate me for it! :-P
