Fall might actually be near with highs only in the 80s and lows in the 50s this week, woohoo! And Miko is ready for fireplace snuggling.
Soon, buddy! I might even buy pumpkins this weekend, can’t wait!
Turmeric is an interesting “superfood” with a lot of promised health benefits. After a quick google, I’m pretty sure it cures everything! Yeah, probably not and I’m sure there is tons of misinformation out there on it’s benefits. But even Dr. Greger is noting it’s particular anti-inflammatory benefits from solid studies. However, it can be tricky to use in enjoyable recipes with it’s strong flavor which I guess is why some prefer it in pill form. But I think you’ll enjoy it in this simple blender salad dressing paired with hemp seeds and raw garlic for a powerful health kick with a smooth and rich texture and kicky, savory flavors.
Turmeric Hemp Dressing
- ⅓ cup hemp seeds
- ½ tsp. ground turmeric
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp. nutritional yeast
- ½ cup water, as needed
- Salt and pepper to taste
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend to a smooth and creamy texture. Serve and enjoy! Makes 4 servings.
I loaded the salad with navy beans, chopped cabbage, carrots, raisins, and green onions for a fun sweet and savory combo.
And the dressing texture worked perfectly for coating the hearty meal salad.
The flavors were perfect, just a slight kicky and warming flare from the turmeric paired with rich garlic and a playful sweetness from the raisins.
This is a great way to work more turmeric and vibrant veggies into your day.

I love turmeric! I made turmeric rice today and my roommate thought I made cheesy rice, it was so yellow! Hemp seeds are expensive up here, do you buy them in bulk? Online?

Me too, I got a huge organic bag of turmeric from GO, perfect for smoothies. I’ve been ordering hemp seeds in 5 lb. bulk bags from Amazon using Subscribe and Save.
