Simple and Fast for the Weekend List

August 20, 2017 by christine

Wow, another weekend flew by too fast! And Miko was hoping for more walk time this weekend, but enjoyed snooze time in the office with me and hubby and I while watching Ozark and Defenders on Netflix.

I did find a new kitchen gadget to try – the Kuhn Rikon Stay Clean Scrubber as an alternative to using disposable sponges.

It’s very bendy and fold able compared to a traditional sponge making it easier to get into tight corners and edges. It’s also dishwasher safe. So far I like it for cleaning pots, pans, and it seems to work well with knives too. Stuff can get stuck in it, but it seems to come out easily folded under running water.

Eats have been simple this week with work being busy and me just not feeling super inspired after long days – simple tofu oil free stir fries.

Salads, lots of salads.

And this tasty vegan Kashi microwave meal I scored at Grocery Outlet.

More tofu stir fries.

Of course lunch out to Pho Vegan Asian Cuisine with my mom and sister.

And hubby and I stepped out to a difference Thai restaurant Friday for spicy tofu curry.

And a loaded salad with sprouts, chickpeas, and a spicy hummus dressing.

Oh, also this tasty spicy miso soup using Lotus Foods Organic Forbidden Rice Ramen and spicy soy bean paste.

It was a great weekend but, ack, where did it go?! I also had a great lunch with my sister today and accomplished more at home, so that’s good. Hope it’s a great week for everyone and to the list!

I have never seen a rubber sponge/scrubber before. What a great idea to save some money since it will last much longer than a normal sponge.
This weekend definitely went by too fast! Have a great day :)

Yes, that’s what I’m hoping – always looking for ways to produce less waste. You too and happy Monday!

My husband and I just finished the first season of Ozark. Love it! Of course, who doesn’t love Jason Bateman? I bought two of those sponges at Sur La Table so I always have a clean one. They’re so much better than disposable.

Nice, we’re about 3 episodes in and loving it so far! Agreed on Jason Bateman. That’s where I got the sponge too, funny!

Simple is often best, as your stir fries so clearly prove. It all looks wonderful- I’d eat any of those meals for dinner tonight!

Yes, so far so good for cleaning smoothie cups and pots and pans.
