I pretty much love any sort of nut or seed butter based dressing, tahini, peanut butter, almond butter, and sunflower butter are all awesome in dressings. As long as the dressings aren’t too heavy or rich and that’s what I found looking for a good spicy peanut dressing, many dressings called for 1/2 cup or more of peanut butter. Yikes! That’s a bit too much fat and calories to coat a healthy salad in. This is a simple, fast, kicky, and spicy peanut dressing that blends a reasonable amount of peanut butter with carrot for a lighter, but still creamy and kicky peanut flavor.
Sriracha Peanut Dressing
- 2 tbsp. peanut butter (or almond butter)
- 1 carrot, rough chopped
- 1 tbsp. miso paste
- 2 tbsp. nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp. sriracha sauce, or to taste
- ⅓ cup water, as needed
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend to a smooth and creamy texture. Serve and enjoy. Makes 4 servings.
It has a summery warm color with a creamy and smooth texture.
And coats a packed meal salad with a savory and spicy peanut flavor while not weighing it down.
While being playful with the sweet chopped apple in the salad.
Miko really wanted to share, but I got the stink eye when I told him spicy sriracha sauce is probably not good for cute little dogs.

Yes! I’m 100% into this. I always have peanut butter and sriracha on hand at all times, and the carrot is a truly inspired addition. I can imagine it would add a nice subtle sweetness to the blend, too. I’m making it as soon as I finish work today!
