Back to reality for us after camping at Bodega Dunes for the last 5 days! Being disconnected and spending time with family is nice, but so are clean showers, fast internet, and bathrooms nearby! We are wiped and washing tons of smokey clothes and bed sheets, so this will be a quick list! But more to come on the camping trip when I sort through all the pictures on my phone and camera!
The chihuahuas’ were very happy to see us when we picked them up from my mom’s!
And the trip was a great opportunity to test my new toy, hubby got me a Pebble Time for an anniversary gift.
So far love it and the battery life, easy to use with RunKeeper and having fun with all the apps and watch faces for it.
I’m still running a lot as I consider training for a half marathon in October, up to 7 miles so far.
But this was a rest weekend with camping, been doing shorter beach and trail runs the last few days to mix it up.
Still eating a lot of spaghetti squash from our garden and made and interesting mix with tempeh, frozen spinach, and curry seasonings.
On the way to Bodega, we stopped by Amy’s Drive Thru for lunch and wow, it’s a popular and fun place!
I could have gotten an organic vegan salad from the menu, but we were already in vacation mode so I tried the vegan spinach pizza and hubby got a vegan Amy’s burger with fries, they were both awesome and fun. I dug the eco-friendly vibe of the place with grass growing on the roof and no disposable plastic used, even the straws were paper.
Lots more camping pictures to come and camping foods, but here are some of the beach views and camp fire. We went for 3+ mile runs each morning and lots of hikes through trails to the beach and the views were just beautiful!
Some mornings were chilly, foggy, and peaceful while others were sunny and bright and just a perfect change from the scenery and hot weather at home.
We camped with my sisters and their families and traded off letting the guys go beer tasting one day while we watched the kids and the girls went wine tasting another. Only hubby joined us for the wine tasting too since we have no kids to watch. :-P We went to nearby Korbel for a tour and lunch where the vegan options were plentiful in the beautiful deli.
The coconut curry popcorn was amazing, I must recreate that! And we had the salad trio bowl where you could select any salad to add to it including kale, fruit, quinoa, and bean salads.
On the way home we stopped by Gaia’s Garden for lunch, a vegan/vegetarian buffet in Santa Rosa and yum! The cornbread, coconut tapioca, lentil soup, spicy, gazpacho, polenta … well, everything was good and I could have loaded up many more plates if I had room!
Whew! Okay, the list:

I hope this will be easier to watch than Earthlings.
Take a peak at the diet of a plant-based endurance runner.
Finally, bad news on the typical southern diet.
Back to regular posts soon after I catch up on email, cleaning, and reading. It’s amazing how fast that piles up when you disconnect for a few days! Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

Good for all you runners that’s awesome! Maybe if my dogs liked to run I’d be more motivated. But as it is, they don’t want to get off the couch or bed. Oh well! Okay, maybe I need to give camping another try!!

I go through motivation lows on running and it’s a challenge in this heat for sure!
I really enjoyed this camping trip and I’m not much of a camper, it was nice to take in nature, spend time with families, and disconnect a little.
