Creamy Hemp Sriracha Dressing

February 10, 2015 by christine

Ah Tuesday, at least you’re not Monday. Smokey is happy any day of the week and has been especially clingy and lovey lately following us around the house and carefully watching what’s going on.

I worry that she may be a little lonely, but pretty sure she wouldn’t appreciate not being queen of the house anymore. Leela is having the opposite problem. She and Miko have been spending a lot of weekdays at my mom’s house with her very active 1-year-old male chihuahua mix. Miko loves the active play time and thrives on the attention competition. Leela comes home a little cranky after being annoyed by them all day and feeling a little neglected.

Poor girl, we’re trying to give her extra special attention. And I’m trying to keep meals quick and simple this week after being at work all day, hitting the gym, cleaning, errands, etc. This dressing is very simple throwing a few ingredients into a blender and smothering a salad in it. It also packs a fiery kick with a smooth and creamy texture.

Creamy Hemp Sriracha Dressing

  • 1/2 cup shelled hemp seeds
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp. of lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sriracha sauce (or less if desired)
  • 1/2 cup water, as needed
  • salt and pepper to taste

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend to a smooth and creamy texture. Serve and enjoy. Makes 2-4 servings.

The texture is very smooth and creamy with a warming color.

I coated a kale meal salad with chopped tofu in it and found it really compliments the fresh veggies.

The flavor packs a nice heat kick that might be a little strong for some, but it added a fiery flare to a simple salad for a warming winter dish.

OMG! I sooooo have to try this recipe! Thanks for it! Which model of Vitamix do you have? Have you tried taking the bottom off and deep cleaning under the blade? I’m considering this but am nervous!

Poor Leela! She’s too cute. I keep thinking about getting a fur friend for Gizmo since he seems like he misses Guinness a lot. But, he’s kind of like Leela, he gets annoyed easily.

Anything with sriracha is good, so I know I’d like this dressing. :)

Yeah, Leela is not always thrilled to have company and I can be the same way too. :-P Poor girl had to go the vet today for her sniffling cold, turns out it’s a sinus infection she’s on medication for.
