4th of July is almost here and so strange it’s on a Tuesday. And it’s the first triple-digit heat weekend of the year which has been brutal, so we escaped for some hiking in Tahoe where it’s only in the 70s and still patches of snow.
In my old age, I’m not a huge fan of fireworks and happy just to get out for summer fun for the 4th.
I got daring with an interesting product I found at Grocery Outlet that I have not tried in ages, Nasoya Pasta Zero.
It’s made with konjac flour and the package has an interesting fishy smell when it’s first opened that goes away after rinsing. The texture is not like traditional pasta, but more chewy. But it’s not a bad low-calorie pasta alternative and easy to throw into a wok to make a fast meal.
There has also been a lot more zucchini and yellow squash in simple stir fries as I try to keep up with what’s coming from the garden. And a delicious and simple turmeric noodle soup.
There has also been salad and Korean BBQ from Vegan Plate.
Ron discovered Sprouts has new fresh, not frozen, vegan pizzas and picked up two for us to try.
I had the Fire Roasted Vegetable pizza which was great with decent vegan cheese and good crust texture. Ron tried the Sausage and liked it, but has had better vegan sausage. Always great to see more options! Hope it’s a great shorter week for everyone starting with the list:
- Success of carnivore fooling vegan bacon.
- Vegan siracha recipes.
- Vegan options at Taco Bell.
- Healthy vegan salads for summer.
- Easy vegan desserts.
- Vegan fast food options.
- Where to get vegan ice cream.
- Expanded vegan meat options.
- What a vegan power lifter eats in a day.
- Kraft launching vegan cheese.

Oh wow, I didn’t know about those pizzas either and they look great! I was just at Sprouts yesterday, too. I’ll have to look next time, I don’t usually check the prepared/non-frozen section.

Every time I go to Sprouts, I always find new vegan products I have not heard of before and love it!
