Wintery Weekend for the List

December 12, 2021 by christine

We are getting lots of wind and rain over the next few days and not complaining! Miko has been very happy to snooze in warm blankets and on warm laps instead of facing the strong wind outside.

When not sleeping, he’s ready on his dining “podium” to share meals with me and really into the simple tempeh and macaroni soup I made one evening.

Friday we stayed in to enjoy Daiya vegan pizzas and chocolate while watching Office Christmas Party. Other eats are more simple stir fries, curried potato sauté, steamed spaghetti squash with tofu stir fry, and more kale salad with chickpeas – not super creative this week.

We stepped out last night to Yard House where we thought we were earlier than the crowds, but clearly not! It was nice to be back in a lively bar scene and have a lot of updated vegan options to choose from.

We started with the Gardein Wings, Ron got the Beyond Burger and me the Gardein Orange “Chicken” plate.

Then walked around checking out the holiday festivities in the outdoor shopping area before heading back home for more Christmas movies before the rain started up again. Wow, it’s almost Christmas and 2022, so strange how time is flying this year. And how this weekend flew by. Hope the list is a good start to your week.

  • Looking forward to these new Matt & Nat bags.
  • Holiday vegan food gifts that can be delivered.
  • Vegan stocking stuffers.
  • TCHO Chocolate going all vegan.
  • Great vegan candle brands.
  • Miyoko is on aa powerful mission.
  • Cooking tips from Tabitha Brown.
  • Best vegan holiday products at Trader Joe’s.

Gotta LOVE Miko’s Expressions! So sweet! I know you said that your dishes weren’t too creative but I think they were! They look and sound lovely! I will be having some similar posts…starting with the one I just posted. I will probably double up on posts for a while. I’ve had a lot of time to think lately LOL

Your dishes look great! I’m trying to get some new dishes going as we are all in quarentine for awhile. When my daughter was out contagious she sneezed in my face and we shared a hot fudge sundae because I didn’t realize she was sick. But we are in the safe zone now and actually no one else got it in my household and we live in close quarters.

Thanks! And yes, ugh, looks like back to lockdown and indoor projects, I need to embrace getting more creative in the kitchen and garden!

It’s been gloomy/rainy here too, ever since I got back from the east coast. I wouldn’t mind it normally, but the barometric pressure is giving me killer headaches.

Anyway… I’ve never been to a Yard House and now I feel like I’m missing out! It really looks like they’ve stepped up their game in recent years.

Ugh, so sorry about the headaches, Ron has been dealing with those too.

Yes, I was very impressed with the options and service at Yard House considering the times.
