Halloween is over, time to break out the Christmas playlists! Seriously, I probably will be listening to them this week, not ashamed. And what a strange Halloween! Finally we get a year with it on a Saturday night and fall back for an extra hour of partying … but it’s during a pandemic. 2020 just keeps on giving. I was really torn on what to do since traditional handing candy out was not an option and I was getting varying recommendations from friends and co-workers. We waited until the vary last minute to decide and went to Target to buy candy on the afternoon of Halloween only to find out they had none left! But they did have little packs of pretzels, veggie chips, Hippeas, and other savory vegan treats, so we bought those instead and set this up.
A decorated plant stand loaded with the treats and blocked off the front porch with web. And we got a solid amount at trick-or-treaters between 6:30 pm all the way to 10 pm, requiring refills – it seemed to be Halloween as usual in this area!
Eats were pretty good this week, lots of kale salads, a delicious soy curl stir fry, and bean pasta sauce mixed with steamed spaghetti squash with a plate of plain spaghetti squash for Miko of course.
I got to go to a fun vendor event at Topgolf one night after work making the second time I’ve been to Topgolf. Still not great at it, but can repeatedly hit easy targets giving me an edge over players going for tough shots, haha.
Other than that, just working, snuggling with Miko, enjoying fall weather running, and vegan deal hunting at Sprouts and Grocery Outlet.
And vegan takeout, the BLT from Zest Kitchen was delicious with crunchy, sweet, and smoky coconut bacon. So was kicky Thai green curry with tofu and brown rice takeout from a local Thai place. And more eating salads in between, haha.
Next up is getting through an election week, eek. Hope everyone has a good and safe week and the list is a bright spot.

Happy Halloween, Happy World Vegan Day, and beyond! There’s no stopping the holidays now, and it’s probably a good thing to just get this year over with anyway.
It’s funny, I’ve never had any trick-or-treaters no matter where I’ve lived. I’ve been on dead-end roads, behind a bigger house on the street, and now in a gated apartment complex. Oh well, more candy for me!

Yes, you too! So true, so I’ll just embrace it! :-) Interesting, we are in kind of a remote area and surprised at all the trick-or-treaters this year!

Christine~ cutest plant stand Halloween set-up ever! But you shocked me with Trick or Treating till 10 pm? LOL, It’s 6-8 here and no exceptions. We think we need to come your way! Halloween was a blast and even with a Pandemic, I just didn’t have the heart to not hand out candy or let my kids go. And it was a blast!

Haha, thanks! I know, I was surprised to see them still out then! Same here, but trying to balance safety and the better option for parents was tricky this year.
