This has been an odd week as I’m sure it has been for you too. Even busier at work preparing those who can work from home to work from home, being short handed, and trying to not let the anxiety get to me or my team. I have stopped going to the gym until this blows over which sucks, but that seems like a good thing to do to socially distance and avoid exposure. Trying to keep working out at home exciting this weekend was a challenge since we got lots of rain and wind. I stepped out for a run this morning when we got a little break in the rain and about a half mile into it, it started down-pouring, then hailing – ouch! I ran home, changed into dry clothes and finished the workout in our home gym.

I ventured out to shop today and stock up on groceries for the week and went to three different stores to get what I needed because of shortages. Grocery Outlet looked like a tornado hit the store and they were out of bananas, bread, tofu, potatoes, cabbage, etc. I went to Raley’s next who had plenty of bananas, potatoes, and cabbage, but picked clean on cleaning supplies. Then to Sprouts who was also completely out of tofu. So strange, but the stores weren’t crowded and everyone seemed nice and not panicked.
Yesterday we did not leave the house and the rainy weather made that easier to relax, catch up on projects, and watch TV. We did get a little sunshine in the afternoon and got the dogs out for a walk where we met new friends.

They were so sweet and eager to come up to the fence to greet us.
Eats this week have been pretty typical, lots of salads, stir fries, and take out from Pho Vegan Asian Cuisine.

More stir fries, more salad, and a hearty lentil, quinoa and tomato stew with roasted butternut squash. I have plenty of leftovers ready for easy work lunches this week.

We’ve also been eating out a bit trying to enjoy that before that gets locked down too. Lunch at Pho Vegan Asian Cuisine, vegan pizza with spicy vegan chorizo from Blaze Pizza, and Thai curry coconut tofu from one of our favorite local Thai restaurants.

How are you doing with all the crazy news? Hanging in there I hope, eating healthy, and staying safe. Hopefully the list is a positive way to start the week.
Hi Christine! Glad to hear you are well. Such scary, strange times we live in! I don’t know what to make of the toilet paper shortage. We are trying to eat healthier and ever and I’m not letting my kids go anywhere. I’m not afraid of us getting it, but I fear them getting the virus, not showing systems and possibly infecting someone else. So we are completely isolated! Weird. They are taking their music lessons online and such. Not too bad! And I wouldn’t be able to go to the gym~ too germy! Walking outside is still nice and cooking lots of yummy food. Stay safe!!!
Yes, very strange. Agreed on the virus, I am very worried about spreading it. Most of the gyms in CA are closed now including mine which is a good thing I guess. I just hope small businesses can survive this.
Strange times, indeed! Like you, I stopped going to the gym. We also cancelled a trip to Turks & Caicos for my friend’s daughter’s wedding. We’re so bummed, but it’s the right thing to do. Enjoy the social distancing and stay well!
Very strange! Glad you canceled that trip, we canceled one in April. You too!
Strange times that keep getting stranger… We just got the order to shelter in place for the next three weeks here. Daunting, terrifying, but I can just take it one day at a time. Glad we can still connect through the magic of blogging. Don’t stop living your life out there. I love seeing all your inspiring eats and adventures. Stay well. <3
Yes they do! We’re sheltering in place now too, so strange, and thankful for online connections too. You too!
