Happy New Year! Right? It’s been an interesting week here where Miko has been loving our extra time off for walks and cuddle time. And loving his warm blankets in front of the fireplace.
Last weekend we headed to Pushkin’s for lunch where the Vegan Maitake Kale Cesar Salad is insanely delicious with artichoke hearts, vegan egg, and fried mushrooms.
It paired perfectly with oat milk cappuccinos and an awesome date.
I have been trying to get back into healthy eating more after so much holiday eating, lots of simple veggie and tempeh sautes using up butternut squash.
And I tried Trader Joe’s Sriracha Baked Tofu to jazz up a stir fry which it did nicely.
New Year’s Eve was a pretty chill evening with good friends, we headed to their house for a vegan fondue party which was great!
She made two great vegan fondue sauces – a white wine creamy fondue and beer cheeze fondue. Both were delicious, but the smokey and creamy flavors in the beer fondue was incredible. We had salad, fruit, bread, veggies, pretzels, and vegan sausage to go with it and delicious homemade vegan nog ice cream and chocolate cake after – so much delicious food!
And it has sparked my curiosity for making healthy vegan fondue for a fun meal idea. We headed home before midnight and toasted sparkling wine to enjoy the last night with our Christmas Tree and comfort a chihuahua stressed out by fireworks.
I have decided to redo our dining room for 2020. We just have one great dining room/area in our house that can hold a pretty large table. But still have an older, small round dining set that seats only 4 from our last, smaller house. I’ve decided we need a bigger set for entertaining and project work space and we started looking at options and inspiration yesterday hitting three huge furniture stores because I burned out on looking. So far I’ve found 3 sets I mostly like that are very different.
The last one is a beautiful solid wood table that is also the most expensive and inspired me to look at more reclaimed wood/up-cycled options. But I am exited to have more working space soon.
After we headed to one of our favorite local Thai restaurants for vegan noodle dishes and beer.
And I got in a very foggy run early this morning before heading into Sacramento for a SacTown VegFest planning meeting.
It’s been a good week, it will be tough to get back into a 5-day work week after time off for the holidays, but good too. I hope you have a great week and the list brings inspiration.

Happy New Year! What a delicious start to 2020! I do adore Pushkin’s and wish it was closer to me. I’d be tempted to visit everyday though… All of the vegan options are so good!

All the food looks yummy but it’s the cap drink I want now! And three tables are spectacular~ you can’t go wrong any way you go! Buffalo just got 3 new vegan restaurants! Who knew. One of them serves up vegan Buffalo “chicken” wings. I have never had a chicken wing so I won’t be able to compare it but I want to try them so bad!

Thanks and thanks on the tables. Still looking at options, there are so many out there and little time for use lately. So exciting on the vegan restaurants, hope you can check them out soon!
