Whew, it has been an interesting weekend so far and it’s not over because we’re heading to a comedy show shortly that I’m looking forward to! Eats at home this week have been pretty simple, lots of tofu oil free stir fries and salad.

Friday hubby and I headed to a friends house in Sacramento after work to help set up for a fund-raising vegan garage sale over the weekend to raise money for the Sacramento Vegetarian Society and SacTown VegFest. We spent nearly two hours sorting donations, setting up tables, and pricing before we ran out of daylight and headed to Burger Patch for a late dinner. I was so excited to finally try this place and it was still packed at 8:30 PM.

I got the Double Patch Burger for hubby and I tried the BBQ Patch Burger which was delicious! We did not realize how starved we were after hours of manual labor, haha. I am so glad to have a plant based vegan burger place and seeing that it’s so popular!
Miko has been a sweet lap buddy this weekend and getting him out for walks has been tough with the heat which I feel awful about. But poor Leela can barely take a little time in the heat.

We caught this inspirational vegan chalk message Friday while walking around Sacramento, love it.
Last night I made this fun Southern Style Air Fryer Soy Curls recipe that was delicious comfort food for being oil free.

And it’s simple to customize and/or add more flavor to so we’ll be making it again soon!
Today I spent most of the day volunteering for the vegan yard sale and the sweet member who was hosting the event at her house picked up this amazing vegan breakfast pizza from Buffalo Pizza & Ice Cream. Spinach, mushrooms, garlic vegan cheese, and tofu turmeric scramble – it was an amazing treat!

Her cat decided to keep it warm for us, haha!
After another full day of sorting, pricing, and selling, we packed up everything that was left in boxes and prepared for a donation pickup tomorrow.

And I got some goodies too. We made about $400 dollars from the sale which is okay and gives us a lot of inspiration to make this an annual event with better planning and volunteers. It was a fun day chatting with people, but also exhausting in the heat.
Okay, to the list!
Now that’s a yard sale I would have loved to browse through! Not that I even have space for more odds and ends, but the thrill of the hunt is irresistible. Plus, knowing that everything was vegan and coming from a vegan home would be a huge bonus.
I’m perpetually amazed at all the vegan eats you share from Sacramento! I never thought there could be so much out there. I really need to plan a serious trio sometime.
Yes and so true on more stuff, I ended up with just books and jewelry from it.
We have the Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge coming up in October, that would be the perfect time to come!
You’re garage sale sounds fun! Cool stuff. But I got to level with you~ I’ve never done one, even for a good cause. I just think the yield is too low for all that work! So I just hope I can find someone to use what I can’t.
Yeah, I’ve never had our own yard sale and agree with you there. This one had a ton of donations come in and seemed to be as much of a social event for members as fundraising which was good.
