I am soooooo glad Friday is almost here! And hello from the San Francisco bay area, I’m hotel living for a couple of days with a co-worker for a software training conference. It’s the same conference we went to last year, but scored a better hotel this time. Getting here yesterday was a fun misadventure, I got roped into driving again and had to swap cars with hubby since it’s just a wee bit out of the range of my electric car. Poor hubby had to adjust the tire pressure on it first. Then when I took it through the car wash, the battery died and it wouldn’t start to leave the car wash. Luckily the nice guys there jumped it so I could drive it back to work and hubby sweetly grabbed a new battery and swapped it in the parking lot before we left in the afternoon. Wee!
But we made it on schedule and his car is clean with a new battery now. And he sweetly surprised me with a snack bag for the trip too – kale chips, trail mix, and raw chocolate.
Again this year I’m very impressed with the vegan options offered at the conference, there were more vegan coffee creamer options than dairy.
I got a hearty breakfast of oatmeal, Tofurky sausage, and fresh fruit from the breakfast buffet.
And I love that they have a bottle water filler to fill my Klean Kanteen instead of wasting plastic.
These are showing up at more airports and public places here and saves so much money from not buying bottled water or soda.
Lunch was pretty amazing also, two different salad blends topped with pecans and walnuts, steamed seasoned veggies, curry tofu, and a savory lentil dish.
For dinner we headed to Blossom Vegan Restaurant again, it’s a nice all vegan place near the event and hotel – perfect.
So nice to have an entire vegan menu!
I went with a simple veggie curry dish after a huge breakfast and lunch at the conference, colorful and cheery.
And spicy, yum!
I got in a decent run on the wobbly hotel treadmill after and now it’s time to study for an exam at the conference tomorrow! But it’s been a good trip so far, we’ve meet a lot of other people in IT and I’m impressed at the healthy, vegan food option. Things are getting better!

I’m sorry to hear about your car troubles, but glad you made it there okay. That’s great that the vegan options are so abundant at an IT conference. You don’t see that everyday!

Thanks and it happens, good thing the battery died before the trip! True on the conference, nice to see an adult menu with lots of fresh produce.

I just have to comment that it seems like you have a beautiful relationship with your husband. I love reading how you both do little thoughtful things for each other. :) x
