Smokey has been enjoying sunbathing time in the summer heat.
And attacking hubby through the curtains for a little play time.
Sounds like the life to me, I’d happily trade the last two days at work for it! No lazy summer days for us lately, but I’m celebrating what’s left of summer with another simple summery and creamy dill dressing for a refreshing and cool salad. This is a configurable dill dressing that can use shelled hemp seeds or sunflower seeds
Simple Creamy Dill Dressing
- 1/2 cup shelled hemp seeds (or sunflower seeds)
- 2 tbsp. nutritional yeast
- 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. dill
- 1 small clove of garlic
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 cup water, as needed
- salt and pepper to taste
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend to a smooth and creamy texture. Serve and enjoy. Makes 2-4 servings.
The dressing is a refreshing, cool light green.
And the tangy, dilly flavor works beautifully with sauerkraut blended into the salad.
It adds a wonderful creamy and comforting texture to a cooling summer salad.
Poor Leela pouted at me for not sharing, she did not understand why garlic is no good for dogs.
But got over it when we shared watermelon for dessert.

I love the idea of this dill inspired salad dressing, you make the best dressings! I have (okay…had) lots of dill until my husband weedwhacked the side yard including my dill! That guy. Ughhhh. Anyhow, can’t wait to try!!
