I’m so happy tomorrow is Friday, I’m looking forward to rest and fun after this work week. And catching up on laundry, eek! Miko has been cuddling up to hubby a lot this week looking for play time, he gets restless and bored with us working all day.
I wish I could take Miko to work, that would be awesome! Mandatory dog walk breaks and a sweet lap buddy to ease stress. For now lots of green veggies are great for dealing with stress and this is a raw vegan superfood green soup with broccoli, garlic, and spinach. It’s savory, creamy, rich, and hearty. Also a beautifully vibrant green color.
Super Broccoli Soup
- 1/4 cup shelled hemp seeds
- 1 cup chopped broccoli
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp. of nutritional yeast
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 cup spinach leaves
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 cup water, as needed
- salt and pepper to taste
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend to a smooth and creamy texture. Serve and enjoy! Makes 1-2 servings.
Raw soups are sort of an acquired taste, I was not into them when I first started getting into raw because they seemed like barely satisfying cold smoothie bowls. But after trying different recipes, I appreciate them more for being a fun, veggie loaded side dish that’s easy on the digestive system.
It has a fresh savory broccoli flavor with a garlic oomph in a creamy and whipped texture.
And, again, I just love the bright green color – so vigorous.
Remember that can of Vegan Toona I got in the swag bag from Vida Vegan Con?
Many have been asking what I’d do with it. Hubby grabbed it to make a vegan version of a pasta “toona” comfort dish with brown rice pasta.
The contents of the can didn’t look too appetizing – like cat food packed in oil.
And while it doesn’t taste horrible, I prefer the raw vegan version with sunflower seeds. But his dish came out very pretty, hearty, and tasty.
Always sexy when a man experiments with a vegan recipe!

Oh my, your broccoli soup does look delicious, I love broccoli and all things broccoli soup. Wondering what will happen to my digestive tract if I eat part raw but part not raw diet? I’ve never had a raw soup before! Really wondering if I will feel better, less tired, ex cetera. Would obviously love that! That vegan toona is so intriguing, now I have to see how to get some! Keep experimenting. very cool.

Thanks on the soup and agreed on broccoli, such a super food to me. A partial raw diet is fine, you don’t have to be 100% to get the benefits. I often go raw for breakfast and lunch and dinner is either partial raw or a whole foods cooked vegan recipes when preparing at home.
The toona is very interesting and glad to see more alternative vegan products.

Yes, very sexy when the husband cooks vegan food. ;)
