Happy Easter. It’s also a big weekend here since it’s hubby’s birthday, lots of fun and eating with a family party later. I created a huge, nut-free raw vegan chocolate mousse cake recipe for the event and will be posting the recipe soon if it’s a hit. I successfully maxed out our 14-cup food processor with it! And we’ve been splurging a lot this weekend. I have rarely been having lunch at Whole Foods lately, but this week I’ve been on a Whole Foods bender since it’s been the most convenient while running around on errands. I discovered a new kombucha too – Clearly Kombucha.
The Chai Cola flavor is delicious, like a light and kicky cream soda and only 30 calories with probiotics and other good stuff.
I took hubby out to his favorite restaurant Friday, The Chef’s Table, where they served me a lovely custom vegan creation of grilled asparagus and artichoke with a sweet and tangy sauce drizzle.
And a beautiful beet and mushroom risotto with micro greens.
Saturday I had my hair roots and dead ends taken care of, not exactly an exciting thing.
But gotta look good for the family gathering! :-) And I want that Ikea mirror for our home gym, hmmm…
I also took the chihuahuas for a long walk to visit the grazing sheep. They weren’t sure about us and carefully watched our every move.
The chihuahuas didn’t seem to notice with all the new grass smells.
And I’ve got new links! Athlete Luke Jones’ journey to a vegan diet and health transformation is inspirational while making great points about acidity in the body.
This article breaks down just how much of a water hog animal factory farming is in shower minutes, a hot issue in California now with a record drought.
In case you’re not sick of hearing about the drought, here’s a positive article on Beyond Meat combating it with meat alternatives.
One Green Planet has recipe inspiration for making tofu awesome.
I need to do this with my collection of race t-shirts and it’s right up my alley with no sewing machine required!
Another reminder that pre-packaged foods have way too much salt.
France had a big win in banning unhealthily thin models from the fashion industry which is pretty awesome, it was a negative influence on me in high school especially sitting near and aspiring model obsessed with body weight. And it’s even worse for young girls today!
LifeHacker has an interesting method for practicing gratitude while house cleaning, something I could use!
The Kind Life has a quick interview with vegan athlete Brendan Brazier.
Food marketers are very creative in fooling us into believing we’re eating healthy, ugh.
And these Carrot Cake Energy Bites look divine from Veganosity.
Finally Dr. Pam Popper has some inspirational information on exercise and how it combats our genes.
Linda @ Veganosity says
