I’ve finally finished the wrapping and feeling ready for Christmas, mostly since we’re still working out menus. Are you ready?
And I’m still focused on healthy recipes since the holidays seem to be just as much about health assaulting foods as love an celebration, work has been flooded with holiday treats and my inbox is flooded with indulgent dessert recipes. But festive flavors can be found in simple, whole food recipes too! Here’s another simple and warming winter salad dressing that is sweet and savory, creamy and kicky.
Creamy Cumin Orange Dressing
- 1 Tangerine, peeped
- 1/4 cup of shelled hemp seeds
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1/2 tsp. of cumin seed
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 2 tbsp. tamari or soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend to a smooth and creamy texture. Serve and enjoy. Makes 4 servings.
The dressing has a warm color with creamy smooth texture.
Perfect for coating a fancy kale salad with purple and yellow carrots.
And the flavor has a warming kick to it from the cumin and chili powder with a playful sweet garlic flavor. It’s almost like a creamy french dressing meets ranch, but a better ingredient list. :-)
Miko was waiting for his turn to sample it.
I said no because of the garlic and spices and gave him a piece of carrot instead.
