With everything going on in the northeast, I almost felt bad about enjoying our perfect weather today … almost. Since hubby is feeling much better, we decided to get out for a bit for a little wine tasting and enjoying the scenery at a winery that is practically in our backyard, Dono dal Cielo. And it was a perfect day, a little cool, sunny, and not a cloud in the sky.
The greenery, rolling hills, and fresh air was perfect after a crazy week.
So perfect we indulged in 3 bottles of zinfandel for our collection and could have easily bought a lot more!
The grape vines were gorgeous even bare for for the winter.
And the wine tasting was fabulous with live music and festivities in the tasting room.
Such a fun mini trip! I’ve always known there were some great wineries right here in town, but have never actually checked them out. And Dono dal Cielo has some great weekend entertainment and events.
When we got home, I took two very bored and restless chihuahuas for a long walk.
While snapping the scenery in our neighborhood.
Before settling in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine deciding what to make for dinner.
I keep things simple with tofu and fresh romanesco broccoli and swiss chard from our farm box for a stir fry.
Seasoning it with tamari, toasted sesame oil, sesame seeds, fresh grated ginger, and chili pepper paste.
I just adore how fast and easy stir fries are for a whole foods one pot meal and always recommend them for anyone looking for a cheaper, faster, and healthier alternative to fast food.
In minutes I had a very filling dinner and the romanesco broccoli made a great addition for a hearty and crunchy texture to compliment the soft tofu. And swiss chard is just awesome in stir fries with a savory and rich flavor, I’ve never been a fan of chard raw, but love it in stir fries.
