Just Venting

December 4, 2012 by christine

The last few days have been pretty awful so excuse me while I have a little pity party. Sunday night I started getting bladder infection symptoms which made for a bad night’s sleep. By Monday morning, the symptoms were mild enough for me to suspect a false alarm and I went along with my day. Then the symptoms flared up again and the earliest doctor’s appointment I could get was for this morning.

While leaving work last night, I noticed a nasty crack starting on my windshield.

I knew instantly how it happened, I got stuck behind a dump truck on the highway Sunday that shot a huge rock at the windshield and the chip spread to a huge, unrepairable crack. This stupid crack wrecked my evening because I’m getting ready to sell the car possibly this week! Replacing the windshield is gonna cost $300, lucky me. Not money I wanted to sink into a nearly 12-year-old economy car and just another frustrating financial hurdle after waiting over a year to replace my car to pay down a huge chunk of mortgage. And I got to spend over an hour researching auto glass repair services and getting quotes last night. I was feeling pretty cranky by the time I got to my doctor’s appointment this morning. I know, it could be worse and I’ll stop whining. :-)

It’s been nice to come home to these sweet little faces.

And a sweet hubby who put Christmas lights on the house today to cheer me up.

I’ve been trying to eat well during all the stress with kale protein smoothies for breakfast.

Huge salads for lunch.

And a fast and lazy tempeh stir fry for dinner last night with soy sauce and tahini for the sauce.

Simple fuel before an after-dinner run.

Tonight I treated myself to a Whole Foods salad since I had to run there after work anyway for a little kitchen restocking. Makes sense, right?

And I think a glass of wine is needed too! And hopefully I’ll be back to my normal self tomorrow. :-)
