TGIF! So happy Friday is finally here after this week, I’m looking forward to some serious running and down time this weekend and I don’t care if it’s gonna be 100 degrees! But my crappy week had to end with a bang in the form of a box I received from Amazon today. This was the giant can of nutritional yeast in the box before it got crunched in shipment.
And this is what the bottom of the box looked like.
Nutritional yeast gets everywhere when a can of it explodes, even in the sealed plastic wrap for my NuNaturals Liquid Stevia.
Ugh! This is gonna be a fun return claim. Of all the food ordering I’ve done online over the last 2 years, this is the first problem I’ve had. Note to self: order nutritional yeast separately in future!
I did manage to get most of the yeast flakes off the two books in the box, Mad Cowboy and Peas and Thank You. Good, because I can’t wait to dive into them! But my sister is first in line to barrow Peas and Thank You, I may have to give it to her right away to try the recipes with her son while devour Mad Cowboy.
After such a crazy week and having an empty kitchen, hubby and I decided to step out for dinner to Crush 29, a classier place with good vegan options for me and nice atmosphere. I grabbed my point-and-shoot for some artsy shots with the wall mirrors. :-)
It’s July and 100 degrees, but they still had the fireplace going. Luckily it wasn’t hot and I liked watching the flames, kind of romantic. :-)
We started out with a hummus flat bread appetizer, lots of garlic and flavor.
I got a veganized veggie pizza removing the cheese for my main, excellent with olives and artichoke hearts.
He got the Portobello Risotto, his favorite dish there.
And we had a wonderfully relaxing evening giggling over wine and people watching, great way to end a week of stress and drama!
