TGIF! So glad it’s Friday and a beautiful one here with temps in the 80s and clear.
And our pear tree has fruit!
Last year it didn’t produce any pears which sent us on a research fest. After some special pruning thanks to hubby, it’s coated with cute, little pears.
And so is our apple tree, I can’t to harvest!
I finally stocked up at Whole Foods after work, $140 later I think I’m covered for the week … maybe. A lot of it was getting good foods for hubby since he’s finally coming home tonight and probably sick of eating fast foods on a business trip all week. Yves vegan meat alternatives were on sale, so I picked up a few for us. I’ve never tried the breakfast patties before, but at only 80 calories for two patties and 11 grams of protein, they looked like something hubby and I could enjoy together.
Plus I grabbed 2 vegan bottles of wine which are much needed after this awful week!
And a little dinner for myself from the salad bar.
Lazy, I know and I’ll probably eat it parked in front of the TV for a truly laid back Friday evening while waiting for him to get in.
I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend of playing in the kitchen, playing catch up with hubby, a little gardening and taking my mom to brunch for mother’s day. And maybe getting time to try a few recipes I’ve been working on. How about you, any weekend plans?

Your post screams spring :) I think your Friday night sounded perfect! I love eating food prepared by someone else and kickin’ back with a red. … which is what I did! We went to Natural Gourmet Institute for a chef’s dinner. Yummy. Homework today (I have three papers due in three weeks!) and hopefully a little time in the kitchen and moderate time outside (because it’s beautiful!) Have a great weekend!
