I’m thinking more about doing a high smoothie week, kind of my version of a cleanse/detox diet since I’m not sure I could ever try a juice diet. Plus it’ll force me to get creative with new smoothie recipes, give my digestive system a rest, and free up time to work on some house projects this week. Sounds good, right? We’ll see. I started today having a pea protein smoothie for breakfast and a hemp protein smoothie for lunch utilizing leftover watermelon chunks from yesterday’s baby shower.
I also had leftover broccoli and carrots to add and threw in chia seeds.
Nice thing about adding watermelon chunks to a smoothie is there’s no need to add additional liquid, the smoothie was almost too runny with just the watermelon.
By the afternoon, I was hungry for a snack and dove into a bag of Terra Sweet Potato chips.
I grabbed them for hubby at Costco, but he wasn’t impressed with the flavor or lack of it. I actually liked them because they had a natural sweet potato flavor with a nice crunch, but weren’t too salty. And I liked the simple ingredient list.
The flavor would work well with savory or sweet dips. But hubby was looking for a saltier, more-seasoned flavor from them.
We headed for an afternoon showing of Bridesmaids and what a great movie! Funny, well-acted, and pretty raw. Highly recommend it!
Then we stepped over for a light dinner at a Turkish restaurant of sauteed spicy veggies and rice.
Fresh, tasty, and not heavy or bloating. And I think Turkish food is growing on hubby. :-)
I’m sad that the another weekend is over, but at least I get to pass off on-call duties for work for a few weeks and have some house project to start on this week. How was your weekend?
