Whew, this has been a crazy week, one of the craziest at work in a long time. So I’m popping in with a quick post hoping everyone is having a great week. I spent way to much time sitting at my desk working through issues and multitasking this week and looking forward to wrapping up this migration project. Leela can relate, she’s been having allergy issues this week and not feeling very energetic.
Last Christmas I got this Charles Viancin 6″ Purple Hibiscus silicone bowl lid that has been very handy for covering cut watermelon.
The larger size works great for larger melons too and saves a lot of plastic wrap and the hassle of dealing with plastic wrap.
So far this week there has been a lot of salad like this kale salad topped with a chilled rice blend and hummus dressing.
And this kale monster with black beans and carrot ginger blender dressing.
Oh and my birthday was this week. Sadly both hubby and I are swamped with work and stepped out to celebrate for a quick dinner at Il Fornaio. I seriously splurged on the bottle of wine and I’m not normally a Chardonnay fan, but Rombauer Vineyards is one of my favorites for a special occasion because it’s pricey.
And vegan friendly. We need to make another trip to Rombauer Vineyards again soon!
There was also angel hair pasta with perfect red sauce.
A favorite comfort meal in the middle of a crazy week. Hopefully I’ll have more insightful things to say about my birthday this weekend and running updates. For now, happy Friday eve!

Happy Birthday! You deserved that wine. :) So sorry to hear that Leela isn’t feeling well. Poor baby.
Great meals this week, they’re all so colorful and perfect for hot weather!

Thanks! Poor Leela has a lot of allergy and dry skin issues when the weather gets really hot.

Happy belated birthday! I’m a red wine drinker mostly but in the summer when it’s really hot I do some chardonnay and that one looks really good!

Thanks! And me too usually on wine, but chilled white is nice sometimes too.
