So far it’s been a productive and pricey weekend after a fun shopping spree with my sister and some intense de-cluttering. I got inspired to tackle a closet in our house after listening to this Life-Changing Habit podcast episode from No Meat Athlete. We still have a ways to go sorting with evaluating the sentimental value of a lot of stuff, but I unloaded a huge carload for donation and made some tough decisions on some of my supposed sentimental stuff like old art, hand-me-downs from passed family, stuffed animals, etc. which was liberating. I also found an old stuffed dog toy gifted to Miko awhile back that’s as big as him! And he had fun dragging it around the house and playing fetch with it yesterday.
I had to add it to the donate pile shortly after when I discovered he likes to rip the stringy “fur” out and practically choke on it. But it was great listening to Matt and Doug’s take on her method of de-cluttering from a plant-based and runner’s perspective since they deal with a larger collection of running memorabilia and deciding when to get rid of race shirts and medals.
I also headed out for some shopping with my sister cruising sales in the area for a little summer wardrobe refresh. We first stopped at Sports Chalet because sadly they’re going out of business and scored good prices SPF hats for summer activities since I never seem to have enough of those on hand!
Then I took her to Grocery Outlet since, gasp, she’s never been to one! There were lots of awesome vegan deals too – organic hemp and flax seeds, organic rice protein, snacks, and oh my!
Then met my other sister and mom for lunch at Pho Vegan Asian Cuisine for a lunch feast!
We continued on surfing sales in the area like an extra 20% off Target clearance, DSW coupons for shoes, Old Navy for summer shorts, and I found this cute purse at Marshall’s that I ended up buying after seeing the happy vegan label on the tag.
I wish more purses had this label!
I probably didn’t need it, but most of my purses are more casual/utility fabric purses currently and this one looked a little more stylish and fancy, but big enough to hold books with secured pockets for multiple cell phones which is important for my job.
And I found obnoxious pink Converse shoes for $24, how could I pass that up?
I have a favorite pair of casual grey Converse that I live in during the weekend and they’re starting to show it. My sister insisted I get these because they fit perfectly and looked cute and it’s not easy finding such a good deal on ones in my size! Pink is a little scary, but it does go with a lot of my clothes.
Then we met up for a causal vegan pizza takeout dinner before calling it a day.
All day shopping can be exhausting! But so fun since I’m not usually a huge clothes shopper lately unless it’s running shoes!
After all that splurge eating though, I was happy to get back to large salads while tackling house projects at home the next day.
Today I’m planning a long run and more house work, but it’s nice getting stuff done and organized before the work week. And having an interesting list of inspiration to start the week!

Your weekend sounds so fun. I love sales! The Converses are an amazing find for $24 and the purse is so cute. I found 2 vegan purses at my local TJMaxx but only got one of them because the other one was impractical (really pretty but I probably would never use it). I saw the new vegan marshmallows at Trader Joe’s this weekend! I didn’t get them b/c I can’t control my sweet eating once I get going and I would have eaten the whole bag but they’re definitely on my list to get for a party or something.

Thanks and me too on sales. I am so picky when it comes to purses because of the cell phones I carry, there needs to be a certain amount of secured zip pockets with easy access. I hear ya on having a sweet tooth, that can be a problem for me too especially when things get stressful.

Looks like a fun weekend! I’ve never been to a grocery outlet before but those deals look AMAZING! Wow, I wish I had one near me so I could get those crazy good vegan deals!

Thanks and I am addicted to Grocery Outlet. I’ve heard similar deals can be found at 99 cent stores too and need to check one out.

Cute purse! And that vegan pizza looks to die for. I love cramming veggies on my pizza, it’s the best of both worlds. Do you have a favorite vegan shampoo? Have you tried Purology? I would rather wash my hair once a week with that stuff than use anything else, it’s that good! (because it’s sooooo pricy).

Thanks! And that’s my favorite type of vegan pizza – loaded with fresh veggies! :-) I have not tried that shampoo, but I will look into to. My hair tends to get tired of some types of shampoo and I have to rotate – curly hair can be very high maintenance!

You’re making me want to run out to Grocery Outlet again right now! I guess part of fun is the thrill of the hunt… You never know what vegan delights might turn up. I feel like your GO is better than mine though. Last visit was moderately disappointing. There certainly weren’t any Earth Balance chips in sight. I would have snapped those up!

I’ve had disappointing visits too, but I was sad to learn not all Grocery Outlets have as large of a health food section as our local one.

No Grocery Outlets in my area. Darn! Those were good deals. It sounds like a fun day of shopping with your sister, and I love that bag. :)

Bummer, but I’ve heard 99 Cent stores and other dollar stores can have great deals too. It was fun, nice to have sister time and get into a little spending trouble. :-)
