I am ready for the weekend. I’m ready to finish the laundry and cleaning from our camping trip and enjoy a little down time. So are the pups, Miko is ready for more play time.
Leela is ready for more walks and to play more of her game refuse-to-look-at-the-camera.
I’ve been enjoying a lot of salads, smoothies, and oil-free stir fries this week after a few days of rich eating while camping. I love vacations, but it’s nice to get back to the food/fitness routine too. This is a simple, creamy hemp seed dressing with an Italian garlic kick that works well with a variety of salad ingredients. I even added chopped pear to this salad for a fun, sweet surprise with the tangy garlic.
Raw Creamy Italian Dressing
- 1/2 cup shelled hemp seeds
- 2 tbsp. wine vinegar
- 1 small clove of garlic
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp. dried parsley
- 1/2 cup water
- salt and pepper to taste
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend to a smooth and creamy texture. Serve and enjoy! Makes 2-4 servings.
The dressing packs a strong garlic kick while being creamy and comforting without oil and sugar.
It completes a hearty meal salad with a savory depth and bright herbs.

You had me at CREAMY! I love creamy dressings, but I NEVER use dressing on my salad because they’re ALL CRAP in this world, unless you make them yourself… Which is EXACTLY what you did ;)

Great salad and dressing! LOVE that green rug BTW!!!

Thanks and the rug was a cheap find from Ikea that has actually aged well considering the pet abuse. :-)
