I’m feeling much better after a few good nights of sleep and not even phased that it’s Monday, hey! Coming home to hubby cooking a sweet surprise helped, he recreated a healthier version of one of my favorite Thai tofu curry dishes and he did a great job!
He used coconut milk, curry, and a kicky blend of spices for a delicious and creamy curry sauce.
Which was perfect since I wasn’t feeling in the mood to cook. We also played our nightly game of “Keep Skipper from eating the other dog’s dinners”.
He’s blind and a little slow, but not when it comes to food! He speed eats most of his dinner and starts heading to the other bowls to check for more while they’re still eating. Leela will have nothing of it, but we have to be careful with Miko since he’ll happily step away from his dinner for attention and Skipper moves in quick!
Skipper also got a new bed this weekend which he’s already covered with hair and treat crumbs.
He’s is always running uncomfortably hot and can’t stay in a regular bed more than a few minutes before he gets up panting and crashes on the cold floor. This hammock bed is supposed cooler and Skipper really seems to like it, he can sleep in it much longer without having to move. We’re still dealing with a chewed wound on Skipper’s leg that he won’t let heal and hoping another vet trip is not needed!
Shadow had good news at the vet last week, his white blood cell count is much closer to normal after being on prednisone for a couple of weeks which means he probably does not have feline leukemia.
He’s still skinny and dealing with some new cat box issues we’re trying to iron out here, I’ve been getting advice from readers on what foods to try and need to adjust my pet food budget now!
