With such a full house here, there are a lot of sweet faces that want attention when I get home from work.
Leela loves her cuddle time while this little guy is ready to chase his toy for hours.
And Skipper just likes to hang out with us usually at hubby’s feet while we’re watching TV.
Sometimes I worry about if everyone’s getting enough attention in this house especially when I run around the house like a crazy person in the mornings getting ready for work, feeding dogs, getting in some chores, etc. And working in gym time and blog time in the evenings. I could use some more hours in a day to cram in everything I need and want to do, couldn’t we all? Instead I’ve been focusing on keeping things fast and simple in the kitchen this week and this easy, cheesy hemp sauce came together beautifully fast for coating lightly steamed veggies.
Hemp Seed Cheesy Sauce
- 1 cup shelled hemp seeds
- 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp. fresh minced rosemary
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 tbsp. nutritional yeast
- 1/2 cup water
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend to a smooth and creamy texture. Makes 4 servings.
The sauce is silky creamy with a savory, slightly tangy flavor.
And coated a mixture of lightly steamed broccoli, carrots, and zucchini like cheese on macaroni, but a much healthier version of it.
Sure, it’s a simple and rushed dinner. But delicious and decadent while still being a nutrient dense whole food.
The sauce has a thick, rich, and creamy texture with a mild herb flavoring from the rosemary and a cheesiness from the nutritional yeast. It could be great for coating a veggie side dish, using as a dip, or even a cheesy spread for wraps.

YUMYUMYUM! I’ll be making this tonight, but will substitute chili powder for the rosemary for a Mexican flair.
