With three dogs now, dinner time is a bit of a chaotic feeding frenzy around here. The boys, Miko and Skipper, clean their bowls and head over to the other bowl to check for more. And check around the bowl for anything missed.
It’s so exhausting, Skipper usually crashes for a nap after.
I had my own dinner frenzy tonight having dessert for dinner. It was a stressful day and I had a large kale smoothie for breakfast and kale salad for lunch, so I deserved it, right? But this is more of a whole foods treat rather than a decadent splurge since it’s packed with Garden of Life’s Raw Protein powder and no refined sugar. It just tastes like a splurge.
Cinnamon Raisin Protein Ice Cream
- 2 cups frozen banana chunks
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 tsp. of cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract
- 1 scoop of Raw Protein powder
Place bananas, cinnamon, vanilla, and protein into a food processor and process to a creamy texture. Add raisins and pulse to a desired chunky texture. Serve and enjoy! Makes 1 large or 2 small servings.
Getting frozen chunks of banana to a smooth and creamy texture took a few stop-and-stirs in the food processor to scoop the powder and banana chunks from the sides of the bowl.
But it’s totally worth it and was a great treat after a crazy day, the bright cinnamon flavor called fall and the texture is smooth and creamy, not gritty.
The chewy raisin chunks added a fun ice creamy texture.
Sometimes dessert for dinner is okay.

Awesome!
I’ve been tinkering with my Sun Warrior Protein Powders and did a Smoothie and Vegan Ice Cream Vegan earlier this week :)
Looking forward to more adventures with it. I want to do a Fruit Chia Pudding with one of the flavored powders in there soon, too!
