Photo Friday

March 30, 2013 by christine

I love Easter for the festivities and family gatherings. But it also makes for a busy weekend! I’m so thankful the weekend is here after a busy week and enjoying a little morning quiet time drinking coffee before heading out on a 6-mile run, but feeling a little overwhelmed at the amount of chores I need to catch up on at home while preparing for Easter events. I decided to do things a little differently with this post taking pics throughout my long work day yesterday which started early with me sipping on coffee and catching up on email.

Not feeling too inspired for a hairdo, I went with an easy bun for casual Friday at work.

I’m in the process of deciding if my hair is getting too long being at my elbows, or if I should keep growing it out. Not easy with naturally curly hair!

I threw together a breakfast smoothie of banana, kale, carrots, beets, medjool dates, ginger, and raw protein powder.

And poured it into a to go cup to take to work.

Unplugged the car to head to work on a full charge.

I’ve been driving an electric vehicle for a few months now, perfect for my short commute and having access to hubby’s car for longer trips. I will be writing more about it soon, but really enjoying not stopping at a gas station.

Sat through a long morning work meeting with my smoothie.

Found a little time to look for recipes for Easter, decided on a raw chocolate cake recipe from Ani’s book that I’ve never tried before!

Headed to Whole Foods on my lunch break to pick up the ingredients.

And have lunch while I was there.

Got greeted by very happy chihuahuas and hubby when I got home from work.

And we decided to head out to a local Thai place for dinner.

Mmmm, more curry.

And Thai beer.

I went with my favorite spicy tofu curry dish, hit the spot!

And we watched Chernobyl Diaries after, a creepy thriller.

The movie got a lot of bad reviews, but I liked it – it wasn’t boring, had decent character set up, and scary.

I love my quiet time in the mornings, but I have been so lazy about running after my half! :( Looks like fun! Have a great Easter :)

My running usually takes a break after a half too, the training can be overwhelming.

Ooh, I can’t wait to hear more about your electric car experiences.
My hair is only semi-curly, but I have not regrets about growing it down to my waist, I love it (although I think I want to try a little color or highlights).
And thanks for the movie recommendation, sometimes “bad” movies can be “good”. We just got Skyfall on our Netflix, I’m looking forward to seeing it tonight.

It’s been an interesting experience so far on the car, much more powerful and quiet than my last car! That’s great about growing your hair to your waist, think that’s what I want to do also since I never did as a kid. Skyfall is awesome, you will love it! And Chernobyl Diaries is a fun romp, especially if the Chernobyl disaster fascinates you.

Everything looks great! LOVE your hubby’s smirk! LOL
Looking forward to more info on that car, too! I saw it first last night on Instagram! Neat!
