I’m still on the fence about running the half marathon tomorrow and will probably decide at the very last minute, but it’s not looking good. I woke up with a pounding sinus headache this morning that is the worst I’ve had in a long time and really strange. Maybe the stress I’ve been going through this week is not helping worrying about a CT scan to make sure my headaches weren’t something more sinister and thankfully they’re not. And our crazy weather patterns aren’t helping I’m sure, we went from 100 degree dry heat earlier this week to windy and cloudy chilly air yesterday which seemed to confuse some poor birds. Hubby noticed this cute little guy sitting on our back patio yesterday sheltered from the wind refusing to leave.
The cats loved the entertainment.
And we had another confused bird trapped in our front porch last night that started frantically flapping around the ceiling when we stepped out to walk the dogs scaring the heck out of us. Hubby caught the bird with gloves and safely released it, but the poor little guy seemed scarred and disoriented.
After a week of madness, we decided to have a relaxing dinner at home last night that included baked acorn squash.
And a nice bottle of wine from one of our Napa trips.
I paired it with a simple salad with Gena’s Brazil Nut Dressing, perfect for a simple meal because the short ingredient list can be quickly tossed into a blender and whole Brazil nuts work just fine if you don’t have Brazil nut butter on hand.

Haha…our dogs LOVE watching the birds at our feeders. And they REALLY like the squirrels. :-) Hope you had a great weekend!
