Hello from San Francisco! I’m in the city for the 3rd Annual Foodbuzz Blogger Festival and having a blast so far. Hubby and I arrived into the city yesterday afternoon and checked into our cute, little, old-but-renovated hotel room. It’s very cozy!
We weren’t even in the city for an hour before I got into shopping trouble, but there was a Lululemon between our hotel and where I needed to check into the festival. I’ve never been to one, but have read many wonderful things about their running and yoga gear in the blogosphere. And I’ve been putting off buying new winter running pants for too long, clearly this was why!
They weren’t cheap at all! But looked amazing on me and so comfortable and supportive. Okay, they made my butt look awesome. I was seriously thinking of posting a pic from me dancing in the dressing room. I already know I’m gonna need to do a lot of running after this festival!
After getting side tracked, I did get checked into the festival and picked up the Foodbuzz goodie bag.
Lots of great loot this year including a cocktail book, Godiva luxo coffee, Oxo peeler which I can never have too many of, coffee mug, and fun samples.
Before I knew it, it was time to catch the bus to the reception dinner. Like last year, Foodbuzz provided nice buses from the hotel to the reception dinner at the Terra Center building this time.
The first hour was for cocktails, appetizers, and chatting on the first floor. Good thing for me the appetizers were sponsored by Sabra hummus.
There were lots of gorgeous veggies and chips for dipping in the many hummus varieties.
And toasted chickpeas which were pretty good, like low-fat, high fiber peanuts with more crunch.
I enjoyed plenty of hummus and wine, not a bad combo at all.
Along with these tasty vegan bruschetta bites.
I spent a lot of time meeting and swapping cards with many wonderful bloggers, but ended up spending most of the 2nd half with these wonderful ladies – Katie from Healthy Diva Eats, Sara of Nourish and Flourish, and Gina of Veggie Couture.
But dinner was lacking in vegan options.
Good thing I stuffed on plenty of hummus and veggies before!
The dessert buffet was a fun frenzy of picture taking and plate loading.
Not too many vegan options, good thing I was too full to care. But there was chocolate coconut dessert hummus that was, uh, interesting.
I liked the coconut flavors, but the texture was different, unexpected for a dessert, and barely sweet. Not my favorite and I probably won’t be experimenting with dessert hummus recipes anytime soon after trying it.
It was a wonderfully long and fabulous day, I left the event around 9:30 PM and, while a lot of blogger groups were heading out for a night on town, sleepy me headed back to the hotel to relax with hubby – I know, I’m a wild woman. :-)
So happy I got to meet you! I wish we could just hang out for a weekend !You are so awesome and sweet!! LOVE your recap!!! xoxo
It was a blast hanging out with you, maybe I’ll see you at the brunch?
Nice swag bag! I am going to have to run just looking at all these food photos. LOL. Glad you are having a good time.
Thanks, but I have so many pics to go through now and I need a serious cleanse this week – ugh! :-)
“But dinner was lacking in vegan options.” and also sounds like the desserts were, too. That’s too bad! Nothing like going to a food event and wanting to sample…the food! At least there was hummus :)
And thanks for the dessert hummus review. I’ve never dabbled with them. I may hold off :)
Glad you got some awesome looking Lulu pants AND met up with so many great ladies!!
True on the vegan options, but there were more options than last year with all the hummus.
It’s been a great fest so far, missed you this year! But I need a serious cleanse now, think I’ll be writing about going 100% raw for the next month! :-)
That’s the problem with Lulu pants. They’re expensive, but then you put them on and look at your butt in the mirror. And then suddenly you’re able to justify them. Needless to say, I have quite a few pairs!!
Love your blogs & it was nice meeting & eating with you! See you next year!
Hi, Christine! It was great meeting you at Foodbuzz. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the conference!
Love your photos! I too gave the dessert hummus a chance, but, yeahhhh, hummus should probably stay savory.
