Whew, 103 degrees today! Running around in this heat has been interesting, I emptied my 27 oz. Klean Kanteen 3 times I’ve been drinking so much water, definitely can’t leave the house without it! I managed another 3.6 mile run this morning before the heat started kicking in, but still managed to drench my clothes in sweat! TMI? But I’m thankful the AC works so well in my car and for tinted windows.
Yesterday I tried Ani’s stir-fried style vegetables with kelp noodles.
I added hemp seeds and yum, it was savory with a great texture. Though I might add more toasted sesame oil next time.
My mom and I headed to Ikea for a little lunch and shopping and I was able to create a decent vegan lunch.
The salad was a bit week, not a lot of options at their little salad bar and not too many pre-made vegan options. I guess Ikea’s meatballs are like crack because we were the only ones not getting them. After I surfed the sales and picked up a few things.
New pillow, pretty candle and rock tray, a fry splatter screen, bamboo for my desk, water pitcher and a couple more air tight glass jars to store seeds and smoothie ingredients. When I first moved back to California, I loved Ikea and shopped a lot there for kitchen gadgets and house decorations. But I’m outta that phase and just buy little things here and there to replacement. I hope this pillow is good, I killed the Sealy one I got from Costco quickly, the stuffing is flat and chunky, so I’m trying one of Ikea’s pricey down pillows. As a side sleeper, I’m picky about pillows, they have to be puffed, but firm. I’m tempted to try a memory foam pillow, but worried it’d be too hot and flat for me. Does anyone have one? What do you think?
And when it’s stinking hot outside, what seems logical for dinner? How about hot bean soup?
Yeah, I’m just odd like that, I think because I had a lot of cold watermelon and the AC was cranked in the house, so I experimented with kidney beans and the result was very tasty.
