Thursdays evenings are always tiring for me, worn from 4 days of work, chores, exercise, etc., I’m feeling the build up of stress and anxiously looking forward to the weekend. Last night I actually found some time to watch TV before crashing and channel surfing at 10 PM can be interesting. I caught an infomercial for The Wave and learned all about how this simple plastic gadget replaces and entire gym with all the tons of exercise possibilities. The demonstrations were pretty funny, I can just see hubby’s face as I’m rocking back and forth on this thing in the TV room – seeeeexy. :-P Has anything tried this?
And that’s what I’m trying to focus on in the off season. Other than that, lose about 40 pounds.
To me this show is a guilty pleasure, something about seeing the insane food creations and the people who eat them. At the same time, there’s something wrong about watching cheering young kids routing for Adam to consume huge amounts of the worst kinds of food. Maybe The Travel Channel should start floating Dr. Oz-style truth-tube health stats on Adam as he’s tackling these food challenges. Yeah, don’t think that’s happening anytime soon.
My breakfast smoothie this morning was exceptionally gloppy.
Peach, frozen grapes, kale, carrots, red cabbage, chia seeds and SunWarrior vanilla protein powder.
I’m a fan of this over hemp protein powder because it has more flavor and less grittiness. Think I’ll try the chocolate flavor next, yum!
I had lunch with my mom today and took Daiya Cheddar Shreds along with my leftover vegan black bean chili for her to try.
We topped a small cup of chili and a side salad with it.
My mom is a cheese addict, she having the hardest time giving that up. So she was thrilled to try a dairy-free alternative and agreed that these cheddar shreds have more flavor than dairy-based cheddar.
Of course another messy salad for dinner, I have not been feeling too inspired this week to really experiment in the kitchen.
But it was a great salad with avocado-tahini dressing, topped with plenty of hemp seeds, nooch and chipotle seasoning.
