My week of madness continues with another busy day at work. This morning while I was doing a little half-awake blog reading and waiting for the cup of coffee to kick in, my cat decided to leave me a present next to my feet in the form or a steaming pile of barf. Good thing we had the entire house done in laminate and tile floors, a few papers towels and 409 squirts and I’m back in biz. I’ve learned the hard way that pets and a fully carpeted house do not play well together with the house we owned in Florida, worse was it was all light carpet so lots of time was spent scrubbing.
Got into the office this morning to hit the ground running thanks to lots going on and still being down a team member. Again, time does fly when juggling 48 tasks at once which is not entirely a bad thing.
For lunch I headed solo to Whole Foods for a monster salad and Kombucha, but it was a bit annoying today. It started to rain right as I arrived and the little eating area was packed with families and people with laptops, not eating, but just sucking the free WIFI. So I ended up sitting outside anyway under an overhang.
Since I’m running low on veggies at home, I tried to craft a salad loaded with items I haven’t eaten recently, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, mixed greens, cucumbers, pumpkin seeds, organic edamame and chipotle Parma. Very filling and I think I actually got some dirty looks from a group of girls who sat at the table near me with not-so-healthy foods. Oh well, I’m pretty used to having my food judged. :-P
One of the fun parts about living in California and driving an older car is regular smog checks and mine is due for one. I decided to check that off my to-do list after work today hoping the wait wouldn’t be that long, thank goodness for Angry Birds on the iPhone. 3o minutes later I was on my way and decided to stop by Nugget for a quick dinner because it was nearby and I just didn’t feel like spending a lot of time in the kitchen. However, Nugget’s salad bar is no where near as sweet at Whole Foods! I assembled this salad using every decent ingredient they had.
It wasn’t bad, but I should have driven the extra 3 miles to Whole Foods. :-P I still have not had time to really crack into Ani’s new book, grrrr! But soon!
