Any good prank stories from today? At work we sent official looking documents to all the department printers stating they’ve been upgraded with voice commands and instructions on what commands to use to see if anyone actually tried to talk to the printer. :-) Got a lot of interesting responses, most just called us to see if it was true. It was actually a pretty tame year compared to the Craigslist fun from last year … let’s just say my boss got a lot of calls for services he didn’t know he provided. :-P But, everyday can be like April Fool’s in IT, it’s good stress relief.
Monster smoothies are my preferred week morning breakfast, they’re satisfying and give instant energy without the bloat. The best option for me at such an early hour when my stomach is still waking up. Everyday my smoothie is a little different as I toss in fruit and veggies that need to be eaten and go with what I feel like. This mornings consisted of red cabbage, ginger, sprouts, carrot, kale, frozen berries and hemp protein powder sweetened with a little NuNaturals stevia powder – delightful purple monster.
I really like adding cabbage, normally eating raw, chopped cabbage in a salad does not digest that well for me, but it’s great in a smoothie.
Lunch I had another beautiful salad and more cucumber dressing from yesterday with a steamed artichoke half.
This morning I actually remembered to soak pumpkin seeds before leaving the house for dinner tonight.
I’ve been itching to try Gena’s Coconut-Pumpkin Pate. I paired it like rice with a sprout loaded salad topped with orange-ginger-walnut dressing I whipped up in the Vita-Mix.
The pate was very good with a lemony-coconut flavor and nice texture. I might even add dried, shredded coconut next time, but it’s very good as is and made a great, veggie loaded dinner.
Ani Phyo posted a new recipe today that I also want to try, Fresh Tomato Chili with Taco Nut Meat. It looks a lot like chili, but looks like it’ll taste amazingly fresher. :-)
