I am dragging this week with an off-and-on sore throat and stuffy nose and I think my insides are still recovering from rich eating this weekend at a birthday party and all the new food sampling at a raw food prep class. I’m sure spending time with my two young nieces, who have perpetual runny noses, didn’t help.
Food, Inc. was a pretty shocking and disturbing movie that has been on my mind since watching last night. In many ways, I didn’t learn much new, like many industries, there is a lot of corruptness in the US food industry where safety and quality take a back seat to profit. The biggest impact it had on me is being more careful on how I grocery shop, like no more shopping at WinCo and being thankful I have a Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and a good co-op near by.
For dinner I created an avocado cream dressing in the Vita-Mix and spiraled zucchini, cucumber and added carrot ribbons and sliced cabbage, it was good and I’m going to perfect that sauce with more spices.
