When I first started transitioning to more raw foods in July, I had some, er, intestinal adjustments. It seemed everything gave me gas and sometimes severely so! Raw garlic, dates, broccoli, and some raw squashes were huge offenders, I had to keep Beano handy before consuming. But, last night the broccoli and garlic packed soup hardly affected me. Today I had butternut squash soup and dates with lunch and was not affected at all! Could I be adjusting and/or building a tolerance? Either way, I like it and look forward to not needing Beano at all!
Tonight I tried Gena’s carrot miso dressing on my own salad creation of spiraled zucchini, cucumbers, red bell peppers, tomatoes and sprouts.
It made an awesome dressing, great sesame flavor with crisp vegetables and not overly strong. My only complaint was it seemed to get watery quickly and requires the salad to be served in a bowl, which it probably should anyway. But, you may get orange drips in your lap if you’re not careful :-)
