I’m suffering from lack of cooking inspiration today, but know I needed to do something warm and meaty for after hubby’s mixed reviews on last nights raw spaghetti. And it ended up being a chaotic evening with car trouble, so I threw together a curry stir fry late. But I did go raw for breakfast and lunch and intend to be back at it for raw Wednesday. There are so many recipes I want to try from Jennifer’s book. After a long, stressful day, there’s something comforting about a hot meal (soup for me) and as we head into chilly weather, it’s going to be harder to stick to raw recipes for dinner. Jennifer Cornbleet recommended a simple, stove top miso soup as a side dish when craving hot food and I suspect I’ll be doing that a bit this winter. This is one of my favorite miso soup recipes and can be done sans tofu.
I’ve been thinking more and more about a Vita-Mix, my mom has one and I’ve been able to compare similar recipes done in her Vita-Mix and my KitchenAid blender, there’s a pretty big texture difference especially in blended salad recipes. Just a few months ago, I never thought I’d be considering spending $400+ on a blender! Now I lead to decide what accessories to get with it, is the 32 oz. container worth it? How about the dry container. Choice, choices!
Anyway, think I let Wii Fit tell me how bad my balance is, take a hot bath and end this brief post with one of my favorite deserts – frozen grapes!
